COUNTRYSIDE LOOP

DAY 01 MANILA / PAGSANJAN
/ PAETE [ L ]
After
approximately a two-and-a-half hours drive reach
the town of Pagsanjan to experience the thrill
of "shooting-the-rapids". Board a native
dug-out canoe manned by two able boatmen for a
picturesque ride to the water falls, passing by
lush tropical vegetation, steep gorges and towering
canyons (approx. 2 hours). Return downstream by
riding the currents through huge boulders and
churning waters at breakneck speed. Lunch at Pagsanjan
Rapids Hotel. In the afternoon visit the woodcarvings
and paper mache-making shops in Paete town (approx.
20 minutes from Pagsanjan). Overnight stay at
the Pagsanjan Rapids Hotel.
DAY
02 PAGSANJAN / VILLA ESCUDERO [ B, L, D ]
Breakfast
at the hotel. Proceed to Villa Escudero approximately
an hour away. This quaint and historic ancestral
manor is set amidst a pastoral grove of coconut
palms, verdant fields and mountains reminiscent
of the plantation era. The stay is highlighted
by a visit to its museum, which houses an interesting
collection of historic, religious and cultural
artifacts dating from the pre-hispanic times to
World War II and a carabao (water buffalo) ride
around the villa to observe coconut harvesting
and processing. Lunch, Dinner and overnight stay
at Villa Escudero.

DAY
03 VILLA ESCUDERO / TAGAYTAY / MANILA [ B ]
After Breakfast proceed to Tagaytay Ridge (approx.
3 hours) at 2,250 feet above sea level. The ridge
is not only cool and invigorating but also picturesque
and scenic. Enjoy the spectacular view of one
of the lowest volcanic craters in the world. Stopover
at the Picnic Grove for picture taking of Taal
Lake and Taal Volcano and Lunch (on individual
account). On the way back to Manila visit a Jeepney
Factory and stop to listen to the unique century-old
Bamboo Organ of Las Pinas. Arrive in Manila late
in the afternoon.

SUBIC : GATEWAY TO ASIA'S LEISURE

Drive
to Subic (approx. 2 hours) passing through rice
fields and native villages along the way. Cradled
by the soaring mountains in Zambales province,
amid virgin rainforest with clean and healthy
air, and crystal clear unpolluted waters, Subic
Bay has a very special magic all its own.
Upon arrival enjoy a running tour (approx. 3 hours)
of the former U.S. Navy Base complex which was
returned to the Filipinos in 1992. The base has
been converted into a freeport and economic zone.
Rest of the day at leisure or try the horseback
riding at El Kabayo with accompanying native guides.
Learn to appreciate the culture and jungle survival
techniques of the indigenous Aeta people, the
native of the place, at the Jungle Survival Training
in the Pamulaklakin Village. There is also a complete
selection of aqua sports including yachting, water-skiing,
windsurfing, sailboarding, coral and shipwreck
diving, jet-skiing, fishing and more. Sample the
usual tourist delights : swimming, mountain biking,
squash and tennis. Subic Bay features a 27-hole,
championship golf course, one of the finest in
the Philippines and a top-class equestrian center.
In the evening, try your luck and enjoy Subic's
casinos or sing to your heart's content at the
first class karaoke clubs. Overnight stay.
DAY
02 SUBIC / CLARK FIELD [ B ]
Breakfast
at the hotel. Drive to Clark Field (approx. 1
hour) via the central plains of Luzon island,
passing by lahar damaged countryside and rehabilitated
commercial and business establishments. Upon arrival
check-in at the Holiday Inn Resort. Rest of the
day at leisure. Visit the Casino or one of the
many duty free stores. Overnight stay.
DAY
03 CLARK FIELD / MANILA [ B ]
Breakfast
at the hotel. Play a round of Golf or try your
luck again at the Casino. Return to Manila in
the afternoon.

PUERTO GALERA :

Drive
to Batangas Pier (approx. 2 hours) and transfer
by pumpboat to Coco Beach, 45 minutes away. Arrive
at the resort and check in. Rest of the day at

Coco Beach is located in one of the coves of Puerto
Galera, on the island of Mindoro. In the old days,
Spanish galleons would drop by to seek shelter
or replenish stores, this is the very reason why
the place is named Puerto Galera or "Port
of Galleons ". All of Coco Beach bungalows
and facilities are made of natural materials which
blend well with the unspoiled nature surrounding
it. It is therefore not surprising that all the
80 cottages are scattered around the 10-hectare
land area among the coconuts and other trees.

02 PUERTO GALERA (COCO BEACH) [ B ]

the nearby islands, beaches and coves, or to simply

Transfer
to the A. Soriano Hangar to board a private chartered
flight to El Nido (approx. 1.5 hours). Upon arrival
transfer to the resorts by pump boat (approx.
1 hour).
El Nido is a marine sanctuary in northern Palawan
with two picturesque resorts - Miniloc Island,
with 31 cottages and Lagen Island, with 51 cottages.
A Guest Activity Co-ordinator will provide a briefing
on the resort activities for the day. Full board
and overnight stay.
DAY
02 EL NIDO
After
breakfast, spend the day exploring countless hidden
beaches, secret lagoons and isolated coves. The
marine sport available include diving, windsurfing,
snorkelling and kayaking. Full board and overnight
stay.
DAY 03 EL NIDO / MANILA
American
Breakfast. Day at leisure until the return flight
via a private chartered aircraft to Manila.

BACOLOD: SUGARLAND AND HERITAGE

01 MANILA / BACOLOD and BAGO
Transfer to the Manila Domestic for the scheduled
flight to Bacolod City, in Negros Island. Upon
arrival transfer to the hotel of your choice.
After check-in, drive to nearby Bago City, for
a visit to the ancestral house and show room of
General Juan Araneta - leader of the 1898 Revolution
in southern Negros. Return to Bacolod City. Overnight
stay.
DAY
02 BACOLOD / SILAY [ B ]
Breakfast
at the hotel. Drive around the City Plaza to glimpse
at the century-old San Sebastian Cathedral. Proceed
to the Yulo's Park and Ancestral House for a short
visit. Pass by the Instituto Rizal, the first
public school established by the Americans in
1903, and the Lizares Mansion. Cruise along Lacson
Street, then head north, passing by the General
Lacson Ancestral House in Talisay, to Silay City.
In Silay, visit the Balay Negrense and the Isabel
Jalandoni Museum, also known as the " Paris
de Negros ".
Proceed to Victorias Milling Company for Lunch
at the VMC Golf and Country Clubhouse (on individual
account). After lunch, tour the sugar mill. Proceed
to Hacienda Rosalia in Manapla, where remnants
of a vintage sugar mill steam machine, dating
back to the era of the European Industrial Revolution
of the1800's lies. Nearby is the Chapel of the
Cartwheels and the "Gaston Farm House "
- a circa 1920 edifice, considered to be a "
model farm house " in the area. Return to
Bacolod City. Overnight stay.

DAY
03 BACOLOD / LA CARLOTA [ B ]
Breakfast
at hotel. Drive for 40-minute to La Carlota City
and the La Granja Agricultural Research Center.
The center was one of three sugar research centers
established by the Spanish government in the 1800's.
After visiting La Granja, proceed to the Central
Azucarera de la Carlota - one of the most modern
sugar mills in the province. At the CAC, comes
the highlight of the tour : the ride on one of
the " iron dragons " that will take
you for a tour of the vast sugar plantations of
Negros Occidental. By noontime, you leave CAC
for La Carlota City proper. Lunch at a local restaurant
(on individual account). Overnight stay.
DAY 04 BACOLOD / MANILA
[ B ]
Breakfast
at the hotel . Transfer to the Bacolod City airport
for the return scheduled flight
to Manila.
